The Dirty Life is the true story of the creation of Essex Farm in upstate New York, a CSA farm that provides organic vegetables, meat, milk, & more to its members. The farm is run by a young couple who attempt to use only horse power for plowing, harrowing, planting, and harvesting. The story is told with honesty and humor by the wife, Kristen Kimball, who before moving to the farm was a New York City journalist.  A great read!
