Films @ your Library!

The library has several ongoing film series and occasional films throughout the year.

Most Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. there is a film selected for teens. These films will be rated PG-13, PG, or G. They will be a mix of new releases, cult favorites, classics, and sleepers all selected for teen viewing. Please check our Calendar of Events for detail information about each film.

On most Wednesdays at 7 p.m. we will show a film for adults. These films are usually group thematically. There may be a series showcasing a director's or actor's best work. Sometimes the series features thoughtful documentaries or foreign films. There is a mix of classics and new releases but we strive to find films that aren't readily available elsewhere. When selecting films we look at reviews, seek community recommendations, and verify that we have viewing perfmission from the rights holder. Films are rated R, PG-13, PG, and G. Please check our Calendar of Events for detail information about each film.

We also have a very active Anime Club for middle and high school aged fans. This group meets everyother Tuesday afternoons. We do not always announce the film before each viewing. The members of the club select the screener with adult input. In addition to watching films, members discuss favorite films, make crafts and food, and participate in other related activities. We watch films using Crunchyroll and use screeners provided by different companies like ADV, FUNimation, VIZ, Media Blasters, Right Stuf, etc. Anime use a different age rating system than other films. Most of the anime that we watch will be 12+, 13+, 14+. Occasionally we will show anime that is rated 14+, 15,+ or 16+. We will not show anime if it is rated 17+ or 18+. Parents can find out more about Anime by visiting our Parent's Guide to Anime and Manga.

During the summer, we offer a movie series for children on Friday afternoons at 1 p.m. This series is part of our annual Summer Reading and Learning Program. The films will be rated G or PG 13.

All movies are free and open to the public. Check our online Calendar of Events or call the library at 603-352-0157 to see what's showing! Contact Gail Zachariah, Branltey Palmer, or Yves Gakunde with your suggestions for future movie series.
